Trance Set 6

I decided to post a quick trance set I did a while back. Most (if not all) of the music is by unsigned artists and all of the tracks were freely distributed by them. I made it a while back to help promote friends and other unsigned artists that I liked. The editing is nothing special, the tracks are not anything amazing, and I threw it together rather quickly but hopefully you will still enjoy it. At the very least, it should be an hour of music that you probably never heard before.

Irrational Hiring

Irrational Games posted an interesting bit of news on their website recently. Apparently they are working on a cool new game. I wonder what it is:

Off the back of winning game of the show at E3, we’re looking for lots of talented people to join us in Australia. We’re working on the sequel to one of the best loved PC franchises of all time. I think gamers are going to go nuts when they find out. So, why not come and talk to us about being part of it?

Irrational also had a great show at E3 this year. They won a lot of awards:

Nintendo announces Wii price

About $50 more then I expected, but still sounds like a pretty good deal. I can see myself getting one of these for sure and I am willing to bet that it will sell very well at that price. Now I wonder what the price of the games will be.

Thursday 25 May 2006
Nintendo has announced the launch price for Wii for the US and Japan but sadly hasn’t revealed how much the console will cost in Europe or the UK.

In a statement released today, is was revealed that the price of Wii “will not exceed $250 in America or 25,000 yen in Japan” but all that was said about the European launch was that it will have a “similar, affordable price”.

To give you a bit of guide how much it could be, $250 works out at £134 while 25,000 yen is equivalent to £119.

While it’s disappointing that no UK launch price was announced, it is encouraging to see that Wii could well retail at around the £150 mark, which would work out as extremely good value, especially given the £425 price tag of PS3.

As for a launch date, the statement just reiterated that Nintendo hopes “to ship six million systems to retailers around the world between its launch in the fourth quarter of 2006 and the end of its fiscal year on 31 March 2007”.

Tribes 2

So, I have recently re-installed Tribes 2. Yesterday I played a nice PUG with a bunch of other players. There were two captains that picked their team members and then the two teams went at it for about an hour. It was a pretty awesome map. I played defense most of the time, only going offense to return flags. I got quite a few nice flag returns on that one. Anyway, if you have Tribes 2 and would like to play, let me know.

If you have never seen a Tribes 2 match (or any Tribes match), you are missing out. They are pretty fun to watch compared to most games. Lots of stuff going on at any moment in a Tribes match. If you want to check one out you can download it here. It isn’t a particularly great match. Two mediocre teams battling for an uneventful rung, but interesting none the less. Should be entertaining to anyone who has never watched a Tribes match before.
