Unreal Tournament 3 confirmed for Xbox 360

UT3.jpg

Who didn’t see this coming from a mile away? The often rumored Xbox 360 version of Unreal Tournament 3 has been confirmed by Midway. The title has also been officially changed from Unreal Tournament 2007 to Unreal Tournament 3 (how they arrived at 3 is beyond me). I personally can’t wait for this game to come out. Looks like Sony is having a lot of trouble keeping exclusives.

Dreamcast Rocks

dreamcast.jpg

Earlier today I turned on my Dreamcast for the first time in almost a year. I forgot how many good games were on the console. There are a lot of them that would make excellent Xbox Live Arcade games. My friend was playing Ikaruga for a bit, and I must say that game still rocks. I have a lot of games for that system that I never got around to finishing. I should go back and play some of them over again (or at least finish them from where I left off). I know I am right at the end of Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

Whats cool is that there are still new games coming out for the console, years after Sega has dropped support for it. Last Hope, Trigger Heart Excelica and Karous are the most recent. All of them are Japan only releases, but Last Hope is region free so you can import it from Play-Asia if you want.

But these games may be finally coming to an end:

According to sources speaking to Dreamcast-Scene, Sega may cease production of the GD-ROM disc format this February. The GD-ROM is the Dreamcast’s only official format, so this revelation would essentially be Sega pulling the life support from its final console, which has managed to retain developer interest even six years after Sega declared it dead.

However, we know of a handful of Dreamcast games coming out in the next few months, so what’s to become of them? If all else fails, they could release them as unlicensed CD-ROM titles.

Whatever happens, it wont change the fact that the Dreamcast was a pretty awesome console that died way to early.

More Oblivion

oblivion.jpg

I have been playing a lot of Oblivion recently. I stopped playing the game a while ago after getting all of the achievements, but after hearing news of the expansion pack called The Shivering Isles, I have gone back and started playing again. I forgot how much I loved this game. Even though I got all the achievements, there are still a ton of side quests that I never got around to and dungeons that I have yet to discover.

Besides the stuff that shipped with the game, there is also a ton of downloadable content available that I never checked out. I just recently finished the Mehrunes’ Razor quest, which I got for free. It’s the biggest dungeon in the entire game, and took me a few hours to finish. Overall it was a lot of fun. I made good amount of money too. If anyone is looking for some cheap Oblivion content, I suggest downloading this quest.

Of course there is a lot of other content worth buying as well. Gametrailers.com put together a video that shows the downloadable content that you can buy. However, the video is pretty old and therefore does not show the Knights of the Nine quest, which is the biggest piece of content and adds about 10 hours of more gameplay. Also, in the video they incorrectly state that you need to be connected to live to play the downloadable content, something they later corrected in a more recent video covering the Knights of the Nine.
