Shadowrun

A new round of invites recently went out for the Shadowrun beta. I have not played too much since getting the invite and can’t comment on anything specific, but I can tell you that the game is shaping up to be awesome. Even in its unfinished state the game is a lot of fun to play. It is a bit complicated at first (as you could probably tell from the new trailer), but once you get the hang of it everything feels natural.

If you have not been invited into the beta yet don’t worry because you could still get the chance. According to Kimona there are still thousands of invites left to go out. Also, a demo will be coming out sometime in the future, so everyone will get a chance to play eventually.

Shivering Isles Details

In a recent fan interview, both the release date and price were announced! The release date is March 27th for both PC and Xbox Live Marketplace, and the game will cost $30 (2400 MSP). My first reaction to that price was, “Wow, that’s a bit more then I was expecting”. But now that I actually think about it, the price is pretty reasonable. Bethesda estimates that the game has 30-40 hours of gameplay, which is a lot more then some full retail releases. Not to mention that Oblivion just kicks ass in general. They are putting a ton of new content into this expansion, and I am really looking forward to it. Check out this Shivering Isles interview from OXM demo disc #67 below:

Who’s Your Daddy?

Looks like he is:

Irrational just released a new video called “Hunting the Big Daddy”. The game is really looking great! The graphics and level design are just beautiful. The Art Deco style really works for the setting. The weapons and character models, as well as the plasmid effects look great as well. The Little Sister hops and skips around, which is really quite eerie. In fact, all of the animations look great. The gameplay looks like a slightly improved System Shock 2, which is to say perfect. Overall, it looks like the game is practically finished. So hopefully the delay is just to add some finishing touches. In the mean time I will be playing some SS2 until they finish this game up.
