This looks familiar

So I was reading the “7 Things System Shock 3 Needs To Have” article over at Cinemablend and came across a screenshot that looks familiar. I thought to myself, “I know I have seen this before. In fact, I am certain that I took this screenshot”. I did a bit of searching and found it on my site in a post from 2007. Its interesting how things move around the internet and then pop back up in weird places. Pretty cool.

By the way, that list is pretty bad.

Tribes: Ascend Updated

Here is that update I talked about in my last post. Honestly, this is how the game should have been in the first place. Back to basics! Good stuff!

Tribes: Ascend 9/4/15 – 9/9/15

tribes ascend 1

Started playing again after a few years of being away. The game is still fun, and apparently getting updated! What a great time to come back.

SOMA Release Date Almost Here

There are a bunch of great games coming out soon, however the one I am probably most looking forward to is SOMA. Its the next horror game from indie studio Frictional Games, creators of Penumbra and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I absolutely love horror games, and in my opinion the developers over at Frictional Games are the kings of the genre. Take a look at 12 minutes of uncut gameplay footage:

Here are three quick bits of trivia about the video:

  • When the video starts we are about 1 hour into the game.
  • The protagonist is not an amnesiac. He has an established past, knows who he is, but isn’t at all sure about the situation he’s in.
  • There are lots more things to explore in this level than what’s shown in the video. For instance, you can avoid the robot attack completely by acting differently.

SOMA will be released on September 22nd.

The Witcher Retrospective

So I am finally getting around to checking out The Witcher 3 (despite pre-ordering it over a year before it released). It has been long enough since I played the last two games that I barely remember what happened in the story. I decided to visit to YouTube to find a summary of the previous two games. After a bit of searching. these two videos are by far the best that I have come across. They are a bit long since they cover all the major events of the previous two games, but now I feel fully prepared going into Witcher 3. By the way, if you have yet to play the first two games I highly recommend them. Well, maybe not the first one anymore since I don’t think it holds up as well. However Witcher 2 is still excellent and worth your time.
